Hakone Yusen SORAKAZE: A New Sightseeing Experience on Lake Ashi

In February 2024, FUJI KYUKO CO., LTD. introduced the “Hakone Yusen SORAKAZE,” a new sightseeing boat on Lake Ashi in Hakone, themed “The Green Park Floating on Lake Ashi.” Designed by Japanese designer Yasuyuki Kawanishi, this boat features an outdoor deck with natural grass and green decorations, blending seamlessly with the environment. Passengers can board at Hakone-Sekishoato Port, Moto-Hakone Port, or Hakone-en Port, enjoying scenic views and the chance to spot Mount Fuji on clear days. The KAZE DECK offers unique features like swing seats and a Mount Fuji-shaped deck for memorable photos, while the onboard shop sells exclusive souvenirs.

Jukkoku Pass: Scenic Views Between Hakone and Atami

In February 2022, FUJI KYUKO CO., LTD. also launched the “Jukkoku Pass” leisure resort facility near Lake Ashi. Situated 770 meters above sea level, Jukkoku Pass offers a 360-degree view of natural beauty, including Mount Fuji, the Southern Alps, and Suruga Bay. Visitors can reach the summit via the Jukkoku Pass Panoramic Cable Car, enjoying observation facilities and a café with unique treats like churros shaped like the character “Pass.” The glamping facility “THE GLAMPING Hakone Jukkoku Pass” provides 14 villa-style units with outdoor BBQ areas, some featuring saunas and rooftop terraces.

Explore Atami: A Renowned Hot Spring Resort

After Hakone, visitors can explore Atami, a famous hot spring resort accessible by a short bus or Shinkansen ride from Tokyo. Atami is known for its sea fireworks displays and the “Atami Seaside Spa & Resort,” offering sea-view rooms, buffet-style meals, and hot springs sourced directly from the spring. Private baths are available for those seeking privacy.

Hatsushima Island: A Family-Friendly Resort Near Tokyo

A 30-minute high-speed boat ride from Atami Port takes visitors to Hatsushima, a secluded resort island close to Tokyo. The “PICA Hatsushima” resort features Instagrammable lemon-themed photo spots, a seaside swing, and unique island-style dishes at the “ENAK” restaurant, such as blue Hatsushima burgers, lemon pancakes, and honey lemon parfaits.

This blend of traditional and modern attractions makes the Hakone and Atami areas a vibrant destination for tourists, offering a rich cultural experience and scenic beauty.
