Reading Time: 2 minutesThe Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board hosted the ‘MP Tourism Masterclass’ workshop on July 4, 2024, at the Madhya Pradesh Bhawan in New Delhi. The workshop aimed to position Madhya Pradesh as a premier tourist destination, showcasing it as an “Offbeat Multispecialty Destination of First Choice.”
With the tourism industry undergoing rapid changes, the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board is dedicated to organizing extensive workshops across the country. This recent workshop highlighted the state’s diverse tourism offerings and fostered collaboration among key industry stakeholders.
Madhya Pradesh, known as the ‘Tiger State of India’ with 785 tigers and also recognized for its cheetah population, set a new tourism record in 2023 with 112.1 million visitors, a significant increase from 34.1 million in 2022.
A notable aspect of the ‘MP Tourism Masterclass’ was the participation of key stakeholders from Madhya Pradesh’s tourism industry, including travel agents, tour operators, and hoteliers. They engaged with their counterparts in New Delhi to build networks and partnerships aimed at boosting tourism prospects for the state. This collaborative effort is expected to not only promote tourism in Madhya Pradesh but also enhance tourism flows between the two regions.
Additional Managing Director, Ms. Bidisha Mukherjee (IAS) highlighted that “we are thrilled with the
outcome of training program in New Delhi. It reaffirms our belief in the importance of collaboration
within the tourism industry. The partnerships forged during this event will undoubtedly enhance
tourism prospects for Madhya Pradesh. The workshop not only deepened the understanding of
Madhya Pradesh’s tourism potential amongst the stakeholders but also established strong bonds
between the two regions, encouraging travellers to explore the offerings of Madhya Pradesh. The
stakeholders gained a competitive edge in the marketplace to deliver a more personalized travel
experience in this workshop.”
The ‘MP Tourism Masterclass’ emerged as a transformative platform for stakeholders, offering a deep dive into Madhya Pradesh’s diverse tourism attractions. Participants gained valuable insights into the state’s rich offerings, including wildlife and heritage tourism, with highlights such as UNESCO World Heritage sites. New initiatives like the Mahakal Corridor in Ujjain and improved connectivity through the launch of the first intra-state air taxi services, connecting eight cities, were showcased.
Additionally, the masterclass highlighted India’s first craft handloom village, Pranpur near Chanderi, inaugurated this year. Madhya Pradesh is gearing up to welcome travelers to its grand annual festivals, including The Chanderi Festival, The Kuno Forest Festival, Gandhisagar Forest Retreat, and Jal Mahotsav, starting from October 2024.
This comprehensive workshop equipped stakeholders with the knowledge to create customized and enriching travel plans for their clients, fostering a strong advocacy for Madhya Pradesh as a premier travel destination.
