of its own. Among the valleys, mountains and forests in the Friulian Alps,
numerous Alpine lakes are there, creating the perfect environment to enjoy all

Tolmezzo is situated at the foothills of the Strabut Mountain, between the
Tagliamento River and the Bût stream. It is at the juncture of the roads
connecting the Cadore province of Veneto, Austria and the plains towards
the sea.
Lake Verzegnis can be reached in a few kilometres, located at the south of
Tolmezzo. Verzegnis lake is a mighty lake that feeds the Cavazzo
hydroelectric power station. Also, it creates a vast natural environment to
be discovered by mountain bikers or by foot.
Sauris Lake lies 30 kms north-west of Tolmezzo. A 136-metre-high
dam makes Sauris Lake, for hydroelectric power. Best for windsurfing,
canoeing, hiking and other activities.
Olbe lake is in the municipality of Sappada. The location is characteristically
remote, yet not completely unfamiliar to modernity as it is near Sappada
2000 chairlift.
Lake Bordaglia is situated within the territory of Forni Avoltri. It can be
reached by a fifteen-minute drive east from Sappada through Cima
Sappada. It’s a must-see location for all nature enthusiasts.
Lake Avostanis is based in the Creta di Timau Mountain range. It’s a holiday
resort along the But valley, and north of Tolmezzo.
