Washington: Amid the chorus urging Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, reports have now emerged that the Democratic Party has made up its mind to replace the incumbent president by Vice-President Kamala Harris.
The reports surfaced days after the first presidential debate held on June 27 in Atlanta, Georgia, where Biden's performance came as a shocker for most Democrats.
After the debacle in the Atlanta presidential debate, Joe Biden himself admitted that “he was not at his best”, and even blamed his age for the poor show.
However, Tucker Carlson, an American conservative political commentator and writer, has now claimed that Joe Biden "has dementia" and that the Democrats have made up their mind to replace Biden with Vice-President Kamala Harris.
The former Fox News host also accused the mainstream media of knowing Biden’s health issue but concealed it from public.
Speaking at Sydney's International Convention Centre in front of 4,000 fans Monday, Carlson said:
"The Democratic operatives posing as journalists on CNN feigned disbelief that Joe Biden has dementia", reported Sky News.
Carlson also claimed that several prominent Democratic leaders have suggested President Joe Biden has "brain damaged" and might be removed from running for office again.
And if Biden is dropped out, Vice President Kamala Harris would be his replacement, he said.
However, other reports suggest that Kamala Harris is not the only one whom Democrats are considering to replace if Biden indeed drops out of the 2024 Presidential race.
According to BBC, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, California Governor Gavin Newsom, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, Maryland Governor Wes Moore and few others are also in the Democratic list to repalce Biden if he decides to withdraw.
However, the latest poll result showed Kamala Harris is ahead of all her rivals in the party to be the Democratic nominee for the 2024 US President Elections.
According to Newsweek, Progress Poll over 39% Democrats want Kamala Harris to replace Biden, 18% are in favour of Gavin Newsom whereas only10% accept Pete Buttigieg as Democratic nominee.
Amidst all these reports, Biden campaign insisted the Pesident is not dropping out.
