Spain advanced to the quarterfinals of the Euro 2024 with a comeback 4-1 win win against tournament newcomers Georgia on Monday.

Georgia, which is playing in its first ever major international tournament, took an early lead after Spanish centre-back Robin Le Normand put the ball in his own net against the run of the play to give the Bulldogs in the 18th minute.

Rodri equalised for Spain in the 39th minute via a low drive from outside the box. The goal came after a series of attacks to comeback 1-1. It was a left-footed shot from the Manchester City midfielder, who took a touch with his right-foot to get that half a second extra time to outfox the onrushing Georgian defenders.

In the second half Spain outplayed Georgia as Fabian Ruiz, Nico Williams and the substitute Dani Olmo made it 4-1.
