Discover Malaysia’s Eco-Treasures with Tourism Malaysia at Global Bird Fair

Tourism Malaysia is delighted to announce its participation in the Global Bird Fair, the world’s largest wildlife event, scheduled from July 11th to 14th, 2024 at Lyndon Top, Rutland, UK. This esteemed gathering brings together wildlife enthusiasts, conservationists, and tourism professionals worldwide to champion wildlife preservation and eco-tourism.

At the event, Tourism Malaysia will showcase the country’s abundant biodiversity, underscoring its position as a top destination for bird watchers and nature aficionados. Renowned author and wildlife expert Quentin Phillipps will join Tourism Malaysia, alongside expert tour operators offering invaluable insights and itinerary recommendations. Attendees will also have the chance to enter a giveaway for a £100 voucher.

Visitors can explore Malaysia’s diverse ecosystems and conservation efforts, and discover premier bird-watching sites such as Taman Negara, Fraser’s Hill, and the Kinabatangan River. Malaysia boasts a rich variety of bird species, including the rare Rhinoceros Hornbill, making it a must-visit for bird enthusiasts.

Quentin Phillipps, a Borneo native, has dedicated his life to studying the region’s wildlife. Born in Sandakan, Sabah, his acclaimed work, “Phillipps’ Field Guide to the Birds of Borneo,” is a definitive resource covering avian species across Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei, and Kalimantan. Attendees can look forward to his insightful talk at the event, where he will share his passion for conservation and personal experiences.

Tourism Malaysia’s participation underscores its commitment to sustainable tourism and preserving Malaysia’s natural heritage. Malaysia offers diverse attractions, from ecotourism to culinary adventures, catering to various interests such as bird-watching, food, archaeology, and diving.

The Sabah Tourism Board will also be present, showcasing the biodiversity and wildlife experiences of Sabah, known for its rainforests, mountains, and beaches. Visitors can learn about top bird-watching spots like the Kinabatangan River, Danum Valley, and Mount Kinabalu, home to unique bird species.

The Global Bird Fair will be held from July 11th to 14th, 2024 at Lyndon Top, Rutland, UK.
