Bhopal, June 30 (Udaipur Kiran): The monsoon season has been active in Madhya Pradesh for the past few days, bringing showers to almost all parts of the state. Heavy rains are expected today, Sunday, in 17 districts including Bhopal, Gwalior, and Jabalpur. Additionally, thunderstorms are forecast for Indore and Ujjain. Yesterday, on Saturday, rains were recorded in over 25 districts, including Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain.
Monsoon Circulation Systems Active
According to Arun Sharma, a scientist at the Meteorological Department, Bhopal, three cyclonic circulations are active in the state. Moisture is coming from the Bay of Bengal, and a trough line is also passing through the region. These factors have created a strong rain system across the state, with its impact being more pronounced in the northern and eastern parts.
Heavy Rain on Saturday
Saturday witnessed strong monsoon activity in the state. Bhopal received heavy rainfall, with over an inch of rain recorded by the evening. Other districts that experienced significant rainfall include Balaghat’s Malajkhand and Seoni (1.25 inches), Umaria and Khajuraho (1 inch), and Mandla, Dhar, Narmadapuram, Pachmarhi, Ratlam, and Ujjain.
Rain Brings Down Temperatures
Due to the rains in Anuppur, Umaria, Balaghat, Dindori, Mandla, Jabalpur, Katni, Panna, Raisen, Sehore, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Dewas, Shajapur, Bhind, Mandsaur, Seoni, Sidhi, Singrauli, Shivpuri, Shahdol, along with Sheopurkalan, Morena, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Satna, Maihar, Rewa, Mauganj, Shahdol, Chhindwara, Betul, Pandhurna, Narmadapuram, and several other districts, temperatures have dropped. In major cities like Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, and Ujjain, the mercury hovered around 32 degrees Celsius. Pachmarhi remained the coolest, with a daytime temperature of 26.8 degrees. Seoni recorded 27.2 degrees, Malajkhand 28.5 degrees, and Mandla 28.8 degrees.
