Peru is holding on well with its defence but Argentina aren’t doing much to test the opposition goalkeeper. A lackadaisical attitude from the defending champion so far.

Argentina looking quite shoddy while trying to create something in the final third. Peru is yet to see much of the ball, but the Argentines have shown glimpses of being lazy with their passing in the first half an hour or so.

First booking of the day. Guerrero sees the yellow card for clipping Paredes’ boots.

Lautaro Martinez is played through on goal by Di Maria, but called offside after the former fancied a chance at goal, prompting Gallese to make a good save.

The ball is mostly spending time inside Peru’s half, with the Argentinians stitching passes together but not finding the one that penetrates through the Peruvian defence.

That was close! A great swinging ball from Di Maria’s corner but the ball goes past without a head attempting to put it inside the net. Otamendi there had the best chance to score his team’s first goal.
