
WATERFORD, N.Y. — A Troy teen was charged with vehicular manslaughter in connection to a one-car crash that resulted in the death of a 14-year-old girl.
Waterford police charged Everhett R. Hatlee, 18, with felony first-degree vehicular manslaughter, felony second-degree vehicular manslaughter, felony aggravated DWI with a child less than 16, misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, misdemeanor reckless driving, and multiple traffic infractions.
According to authorities, the Waterford Police Department was dispatched to the scene of a one-car rollover crash on Fonda Road in the area of #95.During the investigation, it was determined that one occupant of the vehicle, a 14-year-old female, was deceased at the scene. A second passenger, a 16-year-old male, was transported to Albany Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigation on the scene led officers to determine that the driver, Hatlee, was impaired by marijuana.
Hatlee was processed at the Waterford Police Department and then arraigned by Justice Kopach. After arraignment, Hatlee was transported to the Saratoga County Jail. The investigation is continuing and no other information is available at this time.
