In Brief: Doctor to speak on Gaza, rec center entrance change

Pediatrician to speak of conditions in Gaza

Join the Two Rivers Unitarian Universalists this Sunday, June 30, for our Social Justice service with Dr. Barbara Zind, a retired pediatrician from Grand Junction.

Dr. Zind will describe living conditions and the medical system in Gaza before the war and now as well as the challenges of getting aid to children in the territory.

Talk runs from 10-11 a.m. at Third Street Center located 520 S. 3rd St. in Carbondale.

Temporary closure of rec center’s main driveway entrance

Starting Monday, July 1, the main driveway entrance to the Aspen Recreation Center (ARC) will be temporarily closed for approximately three weeks, announced the city of Aspen in a press release. This closure is necessary to facilitate the next phase of the Maroon Creek Trail construction project.

During this period, a temporary entrance will be enforced to ensure continued access to the ARC. This temporary entrance is located approximately 200 feet before the main entrance. Clear signage has been posted to notify and guide motorists traveling both northbound and southbound.

ARC and all of its services will remain open and fully operational throughout the construction period. For convenience, detailed signage and instructions will be available on-site to guide people to the temporary entrance.
