Reading Time: < 1 minuteJens Fehlinger is set to take over as CEO of Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) on October 1, 2024, following Dieter Vranckx, who will be joining the Lufthansa Group Executive Board on July 1, 2024.
Jens Fehlinger, 43, began his career at the Lufthansa Group in 2006, holding various management roles. He managed strategy and business development at Lufthansa Airlines and oversaw operational performance for the Lufthansa Group. During the Covid pandemic, he led the Group’s crisis management office and later headed the ReNew restructuring project. Recently, he has been Co-Managing Director of Lufthansa CityLine and Managing Director of the new airline Lufthansa City Airlines.
Fehlinger holds a commercial pilot’s license for the Airbus A320 and is an active pilot for Lufthansa CityLine. He has a graduate degree in Aviation Systems Engineering and Management from the University of Bremen, Germany, a master’s degree in Traffic and Transport from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, and an Executive MBA from the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.
Jens Fehlinger is married and has two children.
Until Jens Fehlinger takes over, Heike Birlenbach, Chief Commercial Officer SWISS, will serve as interim CEO.
