Germany vs Denmark LIVE Score, Euro 2024: GER 2-0 DEN; Musiala extends German lead after Andersen’s goal ruled out by VAR

German substitutions: Raun and Musiala out and Wirtz and Henrichs in 

The German has outplayed Denmark so far in this fixture. The German midfield has won the battle in the middle of the park. 

Denmark gets a corner. It gets another corner from the resulting set piece. It gets a third consecutive corner. This the most pressure Denmark has put the German defence under. 

Germany is still looking for the third to put the game to bed. The hosts are using both the flanks to stretch out Denmark’s defence. 

Jamal Musiala makes it 2-0 for Germany. He becomes the joint-highest goal scorer of the tournament. A brilliant counter-attack from the hosts released the Bayern Munich forward from the left-flank, who makes no mistake and puts the ball into the net. 

Neuer saves a powerful shoy from Hojlund, it was hit straight at the German custodian. 

Double change for Germany: Andrich and Gundogan out, in comes Niclas Fullkrug and Emre Can. The injection Dortmund players have lifted the fans inside Signal Iduna Park. 

Schlotterbeck with a super tackle to deny Denmark’s Skov Olsen from putting in a cross from inside the box. 

Maehle gets yellow card for his challenge on Gundogan. Germany gets a free kick, which results in a throw. 

Havertz takes the ball near the half way line and drives past Denmark defenders but fails to score. He tries to clip is past Schmeichel, however, his shot goes wide. Sane felt that he was fouled inside the box as he made himself available. 

Andersen gets into the book of the referee and Alexander Bah also gets a yellow for his rash challenge on Andrich. 

Havertz is behind the dead ball. The Arsenal striker scores for Germany. Schmeichel guessed it right but Havertz’s shot was drilled exactly inside the bottom left corner. ADVANTAGE GERMANY!!!!

Germany goes on an attack and the VAR is now checking for a penalty. There is a potential handball by Andersen as Raum tries to cross from left-wing. 

Denmark gets a free-kick. Eriksen’s delivery and Joachim Andersen scores for Denmark. VAR is looking into it, there is a possibility of a off-side in build-up. The goal has been ruled out by VAR. 

The second half of this Euro 2024 round of 16 match begins. We are 45 minutes away from extra-time and penalty if the scoreline remains the same. Hope there will no further interruptions. 

The referee is calling both the captains and pointing to the sky. It is a debate going on about the restart. However, the match starts. FINALLY!!

One minute added on. The referee blows the whistle to end an eventful first half, during which the game was stopped for over 20 minutes. 

Denmar with a brilliant counter attack almost caught Germany off guard. The Bayern Munich goalkeeper denies Hojlund with a brilliant save. 

Germany is dominating the proceedings but are unable to take the advantage. 

Schlotterbeck almost concedes as he gave away the ball inside the box but Hojlund’s fails to take advantage. The Manchester United striker hits the side net. 

Danish coach Kasper Hjulmand gets a yellow card for showing his dissatisfaction. 

Germany has come out with purpose and are looking to take an early lead. Germany gets a corner as Delaney is unable to stop the ball. Kroos overhits from the dead ball. 

Hohlind fouls Gundogan, who was making a darting run through the middle. Schmeichel denies Havertz. What a save to deny the Arsenal’s forward’s header. 

After over 20 minutes delay, the match resumes with a drop ball. 

Referee Michael Oliver resumes play to the relief of thousands of fans in the stadium and the contest starts with a drop ball, exactly from where the match had stopped.

We are back with LIVE action. 

Strong cells capable of producing thunder and maybe even hail are near Dortmund. Germany is currently playing against Denmark and if these cells come toward Dortmund, the fans inside the stadium should make sure to have a way to stay dry.

After a delay of nearly 20 minutes, the match is about to restart as rain has stopped.

Sane and Gundogan combines well and almost opens up Denmark. A big thunder clap and lightning. A storm directly overhead the stadium. The referee is stopping the match. 

It has started to rain in Dortmund. Musiala shows a brilliant piece of play but is unable to progress further. 

Germany is playing from the back in order to carve open Denmark but the Danes are holding firm. Denmark gets a free-kick just outside the penalty box. Maehle is fouled by Raum. 

Maehle takes a shot from inside the box which goes well over the bar. Denmark is slowing coming back into the game. Clash of heads between Havertz and Christiansen, however, both players seem to be okay. 

Terrific defending by Rudiger, he denies Eriksen a shot at goal. Brilliant one on one defending. Denmark gets a corner. Germany defends the set piece well.

Euro 2024: Why was Schlotterbeck’s goal not given in Germany vs Denmark last-16 match?

Nico Schlotterbeck headed the ball into the net in the 4th minute for Germany against Denmark off of a corner but a goal was not given even without a brief VAR check.

Kroos’ free-kick is blocked by the Danish defensive wall and goes out for a throw. Denmark is not able to match Germany’s tempo but is defending well. 

For Germany, Havertz and Gundogan are pushing high and trying to confuse the Danish defenders . Denmark finally gets a free-kick but the resulting set piece is defended well and now, Sane is leading a German counter-attack. He is brought down and its a German free-kick. 

Denmark can’t seem to keep hold of the ball as the German press it crowing them out in the middle of the park. Musiala takes a shot from almost 25 yards out but his shot lacked the accuracy. 

Havertz takes a first time shot and forced Schmeichel to push it for a corner. Kroos’s set piece is met by Andrich but his header is straight at the Danish custodian. 

Denmark is working really hard without the ball as Germany is going through the gears to break the deadlock. 

Germany has started the match with intensity. Kimmich’s shot is saved by the Danish keeper. Another corner for Germany. Schmeichel pushes Schlotterbeck’s header, Germany with another set piece opportunity. 

German defender scored from the set piece but his goal has been ruled out because of foul inside the box.

Germany gets the first free-kick of the match near the halfway line. Germany looking get on the front foot immediately. Raum gets Germany the first corner of the match. 

The last three encounters between the two nations has ended in a tie but tonight we’ll get a result even if it needs an extra-time or a penalty shootout.
