Avion Express A320ceo makes Successful Return to Flight After Incident at Vilnius Airport

An Avion Express Airbus A320ceo, which had previously skidded off the runway at Vilnius Airport (VNO), successfully undertook its inaugural flight post-accident in February 2024. According to records from the Republic of Lithuania’s Ministry of Justice, the probe into the mishap is still in progress.

Resuming flights after refurbishment
Data from Flightradar24 reveals that the repaired Avion Express Airbus A320ceo, with registration LY-NVL, took to the skies again on June 25, 2024. The flight, both commencing and concluding at VNO, lifted off at 19:58 local time (UTC +3) and touched down back in Vilnius at 22:01.

During the journey, which lasted over two hours above Lithuania, the aircraft reached various cruising altitudes, ascending as high as 39,000 feet (11,887 meters). At different intervals, it maintained heights of 31,000 ft (9,448 m), 35,000 ft (10,668 m), 15,000 ft (4,572 m), 13,500 ft (4,114 m), and 10,000 ft (3,048 m).

Žilvinas Lapinskas, the CEO of FL Technics, confirmed that this marked the aircraft’s first operational flight since undergoing repairs.
