Two first half goals, one each by Romania and Slovakia, saw the two teams secure qualification into the round of 16 of the 2024 European Championship, at the Frankfurt Arena in Germany on Wednesday.
On the final matchday of Group E when all four teams remained in the race for qualification, Romania went at the bottom of the table when Ondrej Duda scored for the Slovaks. However, Razvan Marin converted from the spot to rescue the hopes of thousands of Romanian fans in the stadium.
