The tourism industry is crucial for the economic development of Quebec‘s regions. During her visit to the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, the Honourable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for CED, announced CED investments in several tourism organizations in Est-du-Québec.

A total of $6,943,458 has been allocated to four organizations: Le Québec maritime, Hôtel Universel Rivière-du-Loup, Société Duvetnor, and the Corporation de développement de Lac-des-Aigles. This financial support will allow these organizations to improve the tourism experience in the region and conduct marketing activities beyond Quebec.

Additional information on the four projects can be found in the accompanying backgrounder.

The Government of Canada acknowledges and supports businesses and organizations that bring pride to their communities. Quebec’s economic growth depends on a robust tourism industry with organizations deeply integrated into the regional economy. These sector players are significant contributors to growth and essential assets in building a stronger, more resilient, greener, and more equitable economy for all.

The Honourable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for CED “Developing tourism in Quebec’s regions is a priority for our government. Tourism is a matter of pride, and I am delighted with our support for these four organizations showcasing the region to visitors. Thanks to this announcement, we are ensuring not only the creation of good jobs, but also the stimulation of economic growth. Congratulations on these wonderful projects!”
