A Cold Case Gets Hot Again in the New Trailer for ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’

Pip Fitz-Amobi is officially on the case in the new trailer for Netflix’s upcoming series adaptation of the young adult mystery novel A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.
The new show stars Emma Myers (known for playing Enid Sinclair on Wednesday) as Pip, a 17-year-old in small-town England re-investigating a five-year-old murder that everyone else thinks was properly solved. The case involved a high schooler named Andie Bell, and her boyfriend, Sal Singh, was convicted of committing the crime.
But as Pip quips in the opening moments of the new trailer: “For the last few months, I’ve been investigating the Andie Bell case. Oh, and just so you know, they got the wrong person.”
The clip goes on to show Pip digging into the case with the help of Sal’s brother Ravi (Zain Iqbal), uncovering an array of inconsistencies with the original conviction, as well as several nefarious figures who could easily be suspects themselves. The deeper Pip goes down the rabbit hole, however, the more danger she inevitably courts.
“I’m thrilled about this show, and getting to be Pip has been a dream,” Myers told Netflix’s Tudum blog. “Whether you’ve read the book or not, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is an experience all around. I think people are really going to like it.”
Holly Jackson, author of the original book (and its two sequels), added of the adaptation, “I hope viewers will love discovering (or rediscovering) all the secrets and lies of our small English town — Little Kilton. Viewers can expect laugh-out-loud moments from all the teenage antics, but also all the pulse-pounding twists you’d find in the darkest of thrillers.”
A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder premieres Aug. 1, and the series will comprise six 45-minute episodes.
