Saudi Tourism Minister Hails Approved Destination Status as Proof of Solid Bond with China

Saudi declared the formally Approved Destination Status, starting July 1st, just after the second China roadshow and ITB China participation in Shanghai. This decision underlines the commitment of Saudi to turn into a financial and strategic partner of China and cracking new opportunities dispersed all over the ecosystem of tourism and creating mutual understanding and financial development as well, to create a positive effect on both the countries.


For group travel, the declaration of ADS highlights an important milestone to Saudi Arabia. As the Kingdom slowly moves towards its primary target of making China its third largest source market for global arrivals by the year 2030, Saudi Arabia has adopted active measures to become China-ready completely, including doubling the direct flight numbers since 2023 and launching a wide range of personalized products and calculated alliances to improve the group as well as Flexible Independent Travel experiences.


Ahmed Al-Khateeb, His Excellency said that the official ADS status throws light on the fact that Saudi is all China ready and all prepared to making China their third biggest source market by 2030. Saudi Tourism Authority has been a contributory on numerous fronts like facilitation of visa, decreased fees, air connectivity and guaranteeing the preparedness of the destination with information available in www.visitsaudi.cn.
