Base-model Macs won't be able to take advantage of Apple's flagship Xcode 16 feature: Predictive Code Completion.

- Xcode 16's best feature, Predictive Code Completion, requires an Apple silicon Mac with at least 16GB of unified memory.
- Apple has consistently said 8GB of unified memory is enough for base-model Apple silicon Macs.
- The announcement of Predictive Code Completion and Apple Intelligence highlights the problem with buying lower-spec products.
 
Hopefully this means that the new macs will start with 16GB RAM as base!

For Apple's predictive intelligence to succeed now, hopefully yep...!

But that means hundreds of thousands of champs who believed 8gb was enough will have to rethink about predictive intelligence part.

With a nice bump in price, because they have to spend a fortune in engineering and R&D to provide an additional 8GB stick.
 
time to head over to r/apple or r/macbook and watch the collective meltdown happening over there lol
