New Delhi: ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is reaching the business end of the tournament. For India, everyone seems to have found their groove as they have scored runs and taken wickets at a respectable rate. However, one batsman has yet to find stability in the batting order i.e. Virat Kohli.
The 35-year-old who is most likely playing the last T20 WC has a very quiet World Cup according to his standards. Many experts feel that the relatively dormant World Cup of Kohli is due to the change in the position that the 35-year-old is subjected to.
After opening the innings for his franchise all these years, Virat Kohli was given the license to display the same form for his national side. However, with the “Ro-Ko” failing yet again in the Super 8s, will Kohli switch to his usual position of No. 3 before the semifinals?

Netizens react to Kohli’s back-to-back failures!
Social media seemed to be busy finding faults and clawing at Kohli’s failures. Kohli’s performance in this year’s T20 World Cup has been a total mess as the right-hand batsman managed only single-digit scores for himself on most of the occasions.
Interestingly, most of the tweets that were circulated had one thing in common is Kohli still lingering on at the opening slot when he can play at his usual place?

Kohli’s lack of timing and judgement of the new ball has exposed the Indian batting lineup time and again. Now, as the team make its way towards the semis, India needs to find a permanent fix to this jigsaw puzzle. Either Kohli has to bat lower down the order at no.3 or might have to make way for Yashasvi Jaiswal. The second option is highly unlikely and naturally there might be an option to swap places between Kohli and Pant.
