Gulbadin with his third. Brilliant start to the over. Just a single from the first three balls. 

Gulbadin keeps it wide and Maxwell has a go at it. Thick edge and Noor takes a good low diving catch. Is that the game for Afghanistan?

Rashid brings back Naveen in hopes for putting an end to Maxwell’s knock. But a misfield by Janat gifts Maxwell a four following a misfield in the deep. Maxwell adds another double courtesy of some good running. 

Gulbadin continues. Jags one back in to strike David on the front pad. On-field umpire gives it out. Australia takes a review but with no success.

Back of a length from Gulbadin. Bounces much more than Stoinis expected. Top edged and Gurbaz takes a good catch.

Noor Ahmad into the attack. Full down leg side, will run away for five wides. Appeals for lbw as Stoinis misses the shot, AFG opt to review but looks like it was pitching down leg. AFG loses a review. Four!! A touch too full, Stoinis nails the sweep shot for a boundary. Maxwell looks for the reverse, is beaten outside off stump. 

Rashid into the attack. Beaten on the front foot defence first ball. Appeals for lbw, looked close that, Stoinis missed his reverse sweep. AFG opts against the review. Four runs from the over. 

Kharote into the attack. Stoinis gets a single off the first ball. Four!! Maxwell brings out the reverse sweep and finds the gap through third man. Six!! Too full, lofted over midwicket for a huge six. 

Nabi into the attack. WICKET!! Warner looks to sweep first ball, gets a top edge that goes straight to short third.

Omarzai into the attack. Balls stays low outside off stump, allows Warner to sneak in a bye after Gurbaz spills. Four!! On the pads, flicked fine for a boundary. Four!! On the stumps, Maxwell uses his wrists to flick it through midwicket for four. 

Farooqi returns. The batters exchange a single each of the first two balls. Yorker length slower ball, Warner guides it to point for a single. A couple off the last ball to wide mid on. 

Four!! Naveen goes full, Marsh lofts it over the infield on the offside for a boundary. WICKET!! Full slower ball, Marsh looks to go big, only gets a top edge that is easily pouched by Nabi.

Straighter one from Hazlewood. Janat looks to turn it to the leg side. Instead it skews off his edge and flies for a six. Nabi closes off the over with a four, aided by a misfield from Cam Green. 

Rashid Khan promotes himself up the order. Pat Cummins with the ball. Two big shots attempted. But no bat on ball from Rashid. Cummins looks to go for a slow bounder. Above the head says the umpire. Wide given. Fuller one outside off. Rashid goes after it. Edged and just falls short of the fielder in deep. 

Rashid jumps out of the crease looking to go big straight down. Slower ball from Cummins. Rashid mistimes it and it is an easy catch for David.

Gurbaz goes for another maximum. But he can only find Warner at backward square leg.

Agar spins one sharply past Gurbaz’s outside edge. It whizzes past the off stump. Gurbaz tucks the next one for a single to the leg side to get to his fifty. Just five runs of the over though. 

Short and wide from Hazlewood. Slashed away for a four by Zadran to bring up the 100-run opening stand. Third of the tournament for the pair. Hazlewood goes short. Too short says the umpire. Wide. 

Full from Zampa and Gurbaz goes boom. Six straight over the umpire’s head. Zampa goes for the googly next. Seems to have beaten Gurbaz’s inside edge. Aussies appeal but the umpire refuses. Review taken and there is an inside edge. Gurbaz survives. He tries to go big again by dancing down the track. Misses the ball. Wade fails to gather the ball. Gurbaz survives again. 

Stoinis gets his first over of the day and Gurbaz attacks him straight away. Short ball and pulled away for a four. 

DROPPED!! Zadran lobs one back at Stoinis, who can only stick a hand at it. Pings off. Gurbaz and Zadran scamper back for a double. 

Ashton Agar returns. Zadran on strike. Width on offer and Zadran lobs it to deep extra cover for a couple of runs. Zadran hits the same area again. But this time the timing is better. FOUR!!! Zadran goes for another big hit. Tim David with a rocket throw as the Afghan pair look to sneak in a double. Gurbaz with a dive to save his wicket. 

Maxwell continues. Gurbaz tries to sweep but misses. Quicker one outside off, beats Gurbaz’s outside edge. Full on the pads, flicked through the legside for a couple. Four!! Gurbaz brings out the slog sweep, and places it in the gap at midwicket for a boundary. 

Zampa continues. Tossed up, driven to long off for a single. Appeals for lbw after Gurbaz misses his sweep, was outside off stump though. Swept through backward square by Gurbaz, Cummins does well at the deep to keep it to two. Four from the over. 

Maxwell into the attack. On the pads, turned legside for a single. Dropped short outside off, punched to deep cover for one. Brings up the 50-run stand between the two. Prodigious turn for Maxwell, pitches on off and spins behind the batters legs. 

Zampa into the attack. Four!! Gurbaz makes room and lofts a full one down the ground for a boundary. Fuller outside off, driven to deep cover for one. Eight runs from Zampa’s first. 

Cummins to continue. Short of a length, guided to short third for a quick single. Ibrahim looks to make room, Cummins follows him and hits him in the abdomen. Some medical assistance required. Four!! Back of a length again, Ibrahim swivel pulls over the leg side, falls short of deep square and Agar lets it go through his fingers. Four!! Short and wide, cut hard, Zampa tries a one-hander at third man but can’t hold on. 

Hazlewood with a change of ends. Back of a length on the stumps, turned to deep backward square for one. Six!! Second six for Gurbaz. Steps down and lofts one over long on. Four!! Full on the pads, clipped through fine leg for a boundary. 

Cummins into the attack. Ball clearly getting stuck in the surface, batting is going to be hard. Three dots to start the over for Gurbaz. Another one outside off is left alone by the opener. Six!! Something had to give after five dots. Gurbaz hangs back and lofts one down the ground, has enough to go over the boundary. 

Agar continues. Full outside off, driven to point. Pulls the length back, defended off the back foot. Ibrahim punches one through extra cover, will get a couple. Two from the over. 

Hazlewood from the other end. Four!! Short of a length on off stump, extra bounce and the inside edge runs past fine leg for a boundary. Five dots to complete the over.
