Cabinet approves increased MSP for Kharif Crops
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the increased Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for Kharif crops for the marketing season of 2024-25. This decision ensures farmers receive remunerative prices for their produce, aligning with the government’s goal to offer at least 1.5 times the production cost.

Significant increases have been noted, especially for oilseeds and pulses, with nigerseed receiving the highest rise in MSP by Rs 983 per quintal, followed by sesamum at Rs 632 and tur/arhar at Rs 550. This revision in MSP aims to boost income and promote the cultivation of non-cereal crops like pulses and oilseeds.

The government continues to support agricultural advancements and ensure profitability for farmers, emphasizing crops that align with nutritional and environmental objectives.
