Reading Time: 2 minutesAir France has announced the expansion of its long-haul network with the introduction of a new flight route to East Africa set to begin on November 18, 2024. The airline will launch a thrice-weekly service from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, extending its current Zanzibar route. This new route will utilize Airbus A350-900 aircraft, offering 34 Business, 24 Premium Economy, and 266 Economy seats.
The Paris – Zanzibar – Kilimanjaro route will replace the existing Paris – Zanzibar – Dar Es Salaam service. Although Dar Es Salaam will no longer be served directly from Paris, it will remain accessible via Amsterdam with KLM operating up to seven flights a week to the Tanzanian capital. The coordinated flight schedules between Air France and KLM will provide customers with increased flexibility and more travel options within Tanzania.
Flight AF874 will depart Paris at 10:10 am on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, arriving in Zanzibar at 9:10 pm the same day. The flight will then continue from Zanzibar, departing at 10:55 pm and arriving in Kilimanjaro at 11:55 pm. The return flight, AF874, will leave Kilimanjaro at 1:25 am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, arriving back in Paris at 8:50 am.
Mount Kilimanjaro, known as the Roof of Africa, offers breathtaking scenery and diverse wildlife, making it a prime destination for hikers and safari enthusiasts. The surrounding Kilimanjaro National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, serves as an excellent gateway for safaris in Kenya and Tanzania.
