D&E Journey is Set to Protect Locals & Rainforest!

Lately, Green Globe awarded D&E Journey their inaugural certification. In the
luxurious lands of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture based in China,
D&E Journey is a sustainable community motivated effort with an aim on cultural
protection, conservation, and community empowerment. The main motto of
D&E is the law of jungle does not signify that the feeble is a victim of the powerful
but represents symbiosis and incorporation.
Few high-level areas of Xishuangbanna, the rubber trees and their large-scale
cultivation over decades has had shocking effect on the ecology of the rainforests.
Simultaneously, since 2013, the price of rubber has fallen, causing low incomes
for villagers who at present encounter major trouble in maintaining their daily
livings.
D&E Journey, back in 2018, Jino Town, had kick-started a partnership with
Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest Conservation Foundation to conduct a pilot
project with the title – Returning rubber trees to rainforest and rainforest
reforestation.
The project inspires the locals to chop down rubber trees and plant instead a
widely assortment of native tree species. The Foundation arranges fund-raise
events aided by the general public and allocates them to the villagers to produce
and maintain sapling.
To decrease the harm to the rainforest and the dependence of the Jino people on
rubber cultivation, D&E Journey assists the villagers behind growth of ecological
tourism like trekking in the rainforest and cultural experiences with Jino ethnic
minority groups.
