Hainan’s Tourism Sector Poised for Growth with 2024 Overseas Tour Operators Event

From June 24 to 29, 2024, Hainan will host the Overseas Tour Operators Hainan Tour 2024, organized jointly by the China Tourism Academy, the Hainan Provincial Department of Culture, Radio, Television and Sports, and the Sanya Municipal People’s Government. This event aims to advance the “Inbound Tourism Promotion Plan” and the national tourism image campaign “Nihao! China”, initiated by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Its goals include fostering cultural and tourism exchanges between China and other countries, expanding Hainan’s international tourism market, and enhancing overseas precision marketing efforts.

Themed “Travel to meet the World”, the event will feature a series of activities such as the Overseas Tour Operators Hainan Tour 2024, China-Foreign Travel Trade Negotiation Event, the launch of the “Hello!China” – 2024 Silk Road Tourism Overseas Promotion Season, and the Hainan Sanya Tourism Welcoming Ceremony

These activities will spotlight Hainan’s tourism routes, products, and cultural richness. The China Tourism Academy will unveil the Annual Report of China Inbound Tourism Development 2023 and the Report on the Construction of Hainan International Tourism Consumption Destination, while the Hainan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism will showcase local cultural highlights.

For the first time, the event will feature a professional travel trade exchange and negotiation session, facilitating direct business engagements between Hainan’s tourism authorities and overseas travel agencies. This initiative aims to promote high-quality tourism products, establish brand identity, and foster tourism cooperation agreements, thereby bolstering Hainan’s tourism sector.

As a pivotal hub along the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road”, Hainan is strategically aligning its Belt and Road Initiative cooperation with free trade port construction, enhancing its global openness.Sanya, a member of the International Tourism Alliance of Silk Road Cities, will collaborate in hosting the “Hello! China” – 2024 Silk Road Tourism Overseas Promotion Season and the Hainan Sanya Tourism Welcoming Ceremony with the Network of International Culturalink Entities (NICE) and the Hainan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.

This initiative aims to elevate Hainan’s international cultural and tourism influence by showcasing its rich resources and latest inbound tourism policies.

To deepen cultural and tourism exchanges with foreign countries, the event will include a session promoting Hainan’s tourism routes and products, inviting overseas travel trade representatives to experience its coastal scenic highways, ethnic cultures, tropical rainforests, and other distinctive attractions. This immersive experience aims to strengthen understanding and collaboration between Hainan and global tourism stakeholders.

With Hainan’s imminent achievement of independent customs operations in 2025 and its role as a frontier in comprehensive reform and opening up, the province’s tourism industry is poised for significant growth. The Overseas Tour Operators Hainan Tour 2024 will harness global travel trade resources to position Hainan as a premier international tourism destination, attracting investment and promoting its global visibility. This strategic initiative will drive the integrated development of cultural tourism, conventions, exhibitions, and business sectors, advancing Hainan’s positioning as an international tourism consumption hub in alignment with its strategic goals.
