Jaiveer Singh, the Minister of Tourism and Culture, inaugurated the Saryu Mahotsav at Ram ki Paidi in Ayodhya today.

The Tourism and Culture Minister said that,” the aim of the festival is to raise public awareness about the conservation of water, forests, and land while promoting our harmonious coexistence with nature.”

He emphasized the negative impacts of growing urbanization and industrialization on the environment. Rivers are dwindling, and traditional water sources like ponds, tanks, and wells are experiencing declining water levels. He underscored the urgent need for responsible water resource management and forest conservation to ensure a healthy environment and sustainable natural resources for future generations.

Addressing the escalating challenges of global warming, climate change, and ecological disruption due to increased human intervention, he highlighted the profound threat to nature and its resources. He noted that rivers are the lifeblood of civilizations, historically supporting thriving societies along their banks. To revitalize these crucial water bodies, collective awareness and concerted efforts are essential. Preserving rivers, ponds, and natural water sources is vital for maintaining harmony with nature.

The Saryu Mahotsava aims to raise public awareness about safeguarding our natural heritage. Recognizing nature’s critical role in human survival, preserving rivers, forests, land, and natural water sources is paramount. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department invites participation in this Mahotsava to promote awareness of these crucial conservation efforts.
