A sudden fire also broke out in the food court of the famous Acropolis Mall in kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, on friday afternoon, which became terrible in a short time. The fire caused a stampede among the people eating in the food court. people started pushing and shoving to run outside, due to which many people got injured. As soon as the information was received, fire brigade vehicles reached the spot, which are trying to extinguish the fire. The fire is so terrible that the glass of the mall has been broken to extinguish it with the help of water pressure with the help of hydraulic stairs from outside. There is no news of anyone being injured so far, but dozens of people are reported to be trapped inside the mall, whose rescue is being tried.

There was less crowd in the mall due to noon

Acropolis Mall is considered one of the famous shopping spots of South kolkata, but due to the tremendous heatwave in the afternoon, people are rarely coming out of the house. Due to this, there was less crowd in the mall at the time of the incident on Friday. At around 12.15 pm, a sudden fire broke out in the food court 'Kasba' located on the third floor of the mall. At first the fire was slow, so no one worried much. But after a while the fire suddenly flared up and started spreading. Seeing this, people started screaming and everyone started running outside. Many videos of this have also surfaced on social media.

10 fire brigade tankers sent to the spot

As soon as the information was received, the kolkata fire Brigade became active. Immediately 10 fire tankers were sent to the spot. The mall administration also showed agility and quickly evacuated the people. However, despite that some people are still trapped inside. fire brigade personnel used water showers to extinguish the fire. But due to not being able to reach the fire completely, the outside glass was broken using hydraulic stairs. After this, the fire brigade personnel started throwing water jets directly on the fire.

Firefighters entering wearing masks to rescue people

DCP Jadavpur Division Bidisha Kalita Dasgupta, who arrived to inspect the ongoing exercise to extinguish the fire in the mall, said, the fire has been controlled, but nothing can be said for sure right now. At present, there is no information about anyone being injured. Some firefighters are going inside wearing oxygen masks to rescue the people trapped inside.
