Reading Time: 2 minutesQatar Airways has announced a new strategic collaboration with Google Cloud, leveraging the tech giant’s advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) solutions to enhance the customer experience for its passengers.
The partnership aims to utilize Google Cloud’s powerful tools, such as BigQuery and Vertex AI, to gain deeper insights from Qatar Airways’ extensive customer data. These insights will enable the airline to deliver personalized travel experiences tailored to individual passenger needs, preferences, and travel history.
In 2022, Qatar Airways served 18.5 million passengers across 150 destinations, generating a substantial amount of data. The airline’s digital transformation unit will harness this data using Google Cloud’s innovative solutions to drive customer-centric innovations.
The collaboration also includes Qatar Airways adopting Google Cloud’s state-of-the-art technology. “Having a Cloud presence in Qatar ensures our data remains in-country, allowing us to innovate with AI and ML without worrying about data residency,” said Srinivasan, a key executive at Qatar Airways.
Ghassan Kosta, Qatar Country Manager at Google Cloud, highlighted that AI and ML tools empower businesses to make intelligent, real-time decisions and offer personalized experiences. He emphasized that Qatar Airways, renowned for its Qatari hospitality, can now provide passengers with tailored travel recommendations, much like having a personal travel agent.
Beyond customer experience enhancements, Qatar Airways and Google Cloud will explore additional collaboration opportunities. These include using cloud tools to optimize costs, streamline operations, and drive further efficiency.
Sustainability is a core focus of Qatar Airways’ digital transformation strategy. The airline plans to utilize Google Cloud, known as the cleanest cloud in the industry, to implement new programs supporting its sustainability goals by 2030.
