Tim Pringle continues. Pringle to Hridoy, CLEAN BOWLED! A full and flat delivery into the middle deceives Hridoy with the pace as Pringle strikes in his second over.

Mahmudullah, the new batter, gets off the mark with a single. Pringle to Shakib, FOUR! Wonderful timing from Shakib who charges down the track to get to the length of the ball and plays it over cover for a boundary. Shakib takes a single before Mahmudullah ends the over with a dot delivery. 

Aryan Dutt returns into the attack to bowl his last over. He ends his tight spell with a five-run over, leaking only 17 from his four overs quota. 

Left-arm spinner Tim Pringe comes into the attack. Shakib brings his sweep to start the over with a single. Add a couple of more singles. Pringle to Shakib, FOUR! A looping delivery, Shakib rocks back and pulls the short ball piercing two fielders at long-on for a boundary. 8 off this over. 

Van Beek again. Shakib’s drive finds the cover fielder. The second is clipped to deep square for a single. Hridoy drives but covers stops it. A slower ball from van Beek, Hridoy pulls to deep square. Shakib clips with soft hands to get a single through mid wicket.

Van Meekeren returns. Shakib square cuts the first to deep covers for one. OUT! It’s the end of Tanzid. He pulls a back-of-a-length. It is sliced and also into the wind which sees the ball land in the hands of de Leede at deep square leg.

Aryan Dutt for his third over. Starts with a wide. Shakib charges down on the third and tucks it through mid wicket for a single. Tanzid picks a single through mid wicket again on the next delivery. Shakib tries to cut the fifth, no room really to play that shot, gets beaten. A punch to long on to close the over. Just four runs from it.

Bas de Leede to bowl the seventh over. FOUR! Tanzid dances down and creams the delivery through covers. Bangladesh in fifth gear. FOUR again! Short and angling down leg, Tanzid pulls it past deep square leg. Another pull shot for two runs. An inside edge to fine leg on the fifth, just one run. Shakib ends the over with a single.

Logan van Beek into the attack. FOUR! Width on offer for Shakib who upper cuts it over point. A quick single to mid on and an overthrow allows Shakib to come back for two. FOUR more! Aryan Dutt to continue. WHAT A CATCH! Litton goes for a slog sweep. Engelbrecht covers solid ground from deep square leg and then lunges forward to grab the ball full stretch.

Shakib Al Hasan at No. 4. He picks a single to fine leg. FOUR! Tanzid reads the short delivery, goes deep into his crease and pulls it over mid wicket. He punches the next to long on for one run. A single for Shakib to finish the over.

Kingma for his second over. Tanzid top edges a pull, lands it clear of the mid on fielder and gets two runs. FOUR! An attempted bouncer and Tanzid hooks it over short fine leg. SIX! Tanzid steps out and lofts over covers. Tanzid on the charge. He cuts the fourth to deep point where a misfield from Pringle allows him a second run. OUCH! A bouncer from Kingma raps Tanzid on the helmet. The ball is stuck in the grill. He will need to get a concussion check done. FOUR! A fitting reply from Tanzid to the bouncer. Cuts the last through point to make it 18 off the over.

Litton Das in next. He works his first delivery to mid wicket to get off the mark. Tanzid cuts the third but point stops it. Tanzid pulls the next but miscues, he wants a single but Litton sends him back. A leg bye to finish the over.

Scott Edwards: We are gonna have a bowl first. Not too many international games have been played here recently. Our boys are looking forward to it, we have been playing some good cricket. Aryan Dutt comes in.

Najmul Hossain Shanto: I don’t mind batting first. Looks a good wicket. With the new ball, we have to be careful. We are going with the same lineup.

The umpires are having an inspection of the pitch and the outfield. We will get to know about the toss time.

There’s a strong wind - 17 km/hr, that’ll be a factor for captains and bowlers. Dimensions - 67m (hitting into the end) and 61m square boundaries, 76m straight down the ground. We are going to get some good carry. The pitch is very nice and hard. There’s a decent grass covering and a bit of greenness to the grass as well. The ball is going to carry through. It’s going to be a better surface. The ball is going to come on more than what we’ve seen so far in this tournament. If I was a captain and if I had to win the toss, I’d still bowl first.
