Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:04AM

Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(up 9.46%), Sakthi Sugars Ltd.(up 6.92%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd.(up 4.60%), Mawana Sugars Ltd.(up 4.49%), Uttam Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 4.18%), Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd.(up 3.82%), KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd.(up 3.42%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 3.42%), Ugar Sugar Works Ltd.(up 2.82%) and Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd.(up 2.81%) were among the top gainers.

EID Parry(India)Ltd.(down 0.26%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 70.8 points up at 23393.75, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 257.99 points at 76864.56 at around 10:04AM.

Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.68%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 2.51%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 1.6%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.54%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.36%), Wipro Ltd.(up 1.33%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.16%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.13%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 1.06%) and UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 0.91%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.63%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.41%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 1.06%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.95%), Cipla Ltd.(down 0.71%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 0.62%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(down 0.54%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(down 0.51%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.46%) and NTPC Ltd.(down 0.38%) were trading in the red.
