Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Wednesday at 11:10AM

MOIL Ltd.(up 5.79%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(up 5.33%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(up 3.18%), Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(up 2.95%), Coal India Ltd.(up 2.45%), Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 2.21%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(up 1.60%), NMDC Ltd.(up 1.40%), KIOCL Ltd.(up 1.18%) and The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(up 1.11%) were among the top gainers.

Pokarna Ltd.(down 0.64%) and Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 0.12%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 142.21 points up at 23407.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 465.12 points at 76921.71 at around 11:10AM.

Coal India Ltd.(up 2.43%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.65%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.62%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.6%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 1.44%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.26%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 1.25%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 1.21%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(up 1.19%) and Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.12%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 1.24%), Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.89%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 0.89%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 0.69%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.38%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.22%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.22%), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.06%) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.02%) were trading in the red.
