Tuesday’s high school roundup/scores: St. Mary’s edges Tantasqua in tense Div. 3 state semifinal

Jack Zimmerman and Jacob Peterson combined to pitch a shutout, and pinch runner Gabe Diaz stole two bases and scored on a Devin Duval sacrifice fly in the fifth as No. 2 St. Mary’s (20-4) beat No. 6 Tantasqua 1-0 in a Div. 3 state semifinal baseball matchup.

In a Div. 4 semifinal, Jack Abel tripled and scored on Jackson Almeida’s drive to left as No. 6 Pittsfield (19-5) edged 10th-seeded East Bridgewater, 1-0.

Boys lacrosse

Ryan Chambers scored three goals as No. 1 Nantucket (20-1) advanced to the Div. 4 state finals with a 9-3 win over No. 13 Swampscott. … Cole Rodgers (four goals) and Harry Delman (two goals) set the tone offensively, while Shane Corcoran made 16 saves as third-seeded Sandwich (19-3) bested second-seeded Norwell, 9-3.

Graham Schofield and John Gilberti each scored three times as No. 4 Marshfield (19-3) rallied from a 6-3 halftime deficit to knock off top-seeded Duxbury 10-9 in a Div. 2 state semifinal.

Softball

Maddie Grant fired a four-hitter and Ellie Barbarick homered as No. 2 Georgetown (15-6) defeated seventh-seeded Tahanto 4-2 in a Div. 5 state semifinal.
