Addressing media personnel, Elangovan targeted BJP leaders Tamilisai Soundararajan and K. Annamalai, asserting that the party has weakened significantly under Annamalai’s leadership. “Tamilisai had stepped down from the governor’s post to contest the polls with hopes pinned on victory, but was defeated,” he said.
Elangovan was particularly critical of Annamalai’s approach, arguing that mere statements and press conferences are insufficient to secure electoral success. “Annamalai is not even fit to win a corporation council election,” he remarked. He further noted that the BJP had more support among Tamil Nadu’s populace when it was allied with the AIADMK and under the leadership of figures like L. Murugan and Tamilisai Soundararajan.
“Now, under Annamalai, the party has grown weaker,” Elangovan stated, urging both Annamalai and Tamilisai to accept their electoral defeats and remain silent.
