Haryana’s Faridabad Member of Parliament, Krishan Pal Gurjar, has been appointed as the Union Minister of State for Cooperation.

Born in Mewla Maharajpur, Faridabad, Haryana, Gurjar won the Lok Sabha election with 1.72 million votes, defeating his rival Mahender Pratap Singh from the Congress party.

He completed his graduation from Jawaharlal Nehru College in 1978 and earned his law degree from Meerut University.

Krishan Pal Gurjar first entered politics by winning the Corporation Councilor election in 1994 as a candidate from the Bharatiya Janata Party and subsequently became the party’s State Minister. He was elected as the Member of Legislative Assembly for the Mewla–Maharajpur constituency in 1996.

He secured the MLA seat for two more consecutive terms. Gurjar served as the Transport Minister in the Bansi Lal government from 1996 to 1999 and later served as the BJP State President of Haryana.

Gurjar’s family is also involved in politics. His son, Devender Chaudhary, was the Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad, and his nephew, Utkarsh Chaudhary, served as Vice President of the Delhi University Students Union.
