Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Tuesday at 11:20AM

Reliance Power Ltd.(up 7.56%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(up 5.00%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 5.00%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 4.99%), GE Power India Ltd.(up 4.92%), GE T&D India Ltd.(up 3.57%), Torrent Power Ltd.(up 2.95%), Orient Green Power Company Ltd.(up 2.70%), Suzlon Energy Ltd.(up 2.60%) and Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd.(up 2.52%) were among the top gainers.

Neueon Towers Ltd.(down 5.07%), RattanIndia Power Ltd.(down 5.03%), Indowind Energy Ltd.(down 0.74%), Kalpataru Projects International Ltd.(down 0.62%), Adani Green Energy Ltd.(down 0.56%), Adani Power Ltd.(down 0.54%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(down 0.46%), Karma Energy Ltd.(down 0.37%), Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.(down 0.29%) and Voltamp Transformers Ltd.(down 0.13%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 72.35 points up at 23331.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 205.62 points at 76695.7 at around 11:20AM.

Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 3.54%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 1.96%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.75%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.35%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.34%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.31%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.14%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.05%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 1.02%) and UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 1.01%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.95%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 0.95%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 0.93%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 0.82%), Nestle India Ltd.(down 0.47%), ITC Ltd.(down 0.34%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 0.17%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(down 0.11%), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.1%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.08%) were trading in the red.
