Reading Time: 2 minutesOman‘s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) took a significant step towards enhancing tourism across various governorates by signing ten usufruct contracts on Sunday.
These contracts, totaling investments exceeding RO6 million, aim to drive forward tourism projects in the region.
H.E. Salim Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, personally inked these contracts with representatives from respective companies.
The projects encompass a diverse range of developments spanning multiple governorates.
In Dhofar, plans include the establishment of a 3-star hotel and a tourist rest house in Salalah, a tourist camp in the Al Khadf area of Thumrait, and a 3-star tourist resort in Shalim and Hallaniyat Islands.
Meanwhile, projects in Dakhliyah entail a 3-star hotel, an adventure center, and a luxury tourist camp in Barakat al Sharaf, as well as a 3-star resort in Misfat al Abriyeen in Al Hamra.
Moving to South Batinah, the agenda features tourist camps in Wadi Mastal and the Al Abyad area of the wilayat of Nakhal.
South Sharqiyah’s development agenda includes a tourist camp in the wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali.
Amira bint Iqbal al Lawati, Director General of Tourism Development in MHT, highlighted the significance of these contracts in bolstering the tourism sector.
She emphasized their potential to generate job opportunities, enrich local communities, and expand accommodation options and facilities, aligning with the comprehensive tourism development plan of the governorates.
One project owner, Muslim bin Ahmed al Hadary, shared insights about his resort in Salalah.
Designed to blend seamlessly with Dhofar’s natural landscape, the resort features chalets.
Its aim is to diversify tourism offerings and enhance the overall tourism landscape of the governorate.
These contracts underscore Oman’s commitment to fostering sustainable tourism growth and development across its diverse regions.
By investing in these projects, the government aims to tap into the economic and social potential of tourism, enriching communities and offering memorable experiences for visitors.
