New Modi govt won’t last long, claims EVKS Elangovan

Senior Congress leader and Erode East MLA, EVKS Elangovan, has predicted a short tenure for the newly formed Modi government, suggesting that key allies like Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu and Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar might soon exit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Speaking to reporters in Madurai on Sunday, Elangovan expressed doubts about the longevity of the new government, questioning whether even the first Parliament session would proceed smoothly under Modi’s leadership. He warned against the Prime Minister adopting a dictatorial approach and acting unilaterally, suggesting that such behavior could lead to his downfall by the electorate.

Elangovan emphasized that unlike previous regimes, Modi should refrain from dictatorial tendencies. “If Modi does so, then people would dethrone him,” he stated.

Furthermore, Elangovan called for behavioral changes among BJP leaders, specifically mentioning K Annamalai and Tamilisai Soundararajan. He criticized them for speaking without restraint and pointed out that Tamilisai, who had hoped for a position in the Union Cabinet, ultimately lost her role as Governor.
