In an exclusive interview with Anup Kumar Keshan, CEO, Founder, and Editor-in-Chief of Travel And Tour World, Nader El Biblawi, Chairman of the Egypt Travel Agent Association, emphasized the importance of relying on traditional tour operators over artificial intelligence for secure and enriching travel experiences. During their conversation at the Riyadh Travel Fair 2024, Nader El Biblawi, Chairman of the Egypt Travel Agent Association (ETAA) highlighted the deep-rooted connection between Egypt and the Saudi market and shared insights on the country’s latest offerings, including the burgeoning North Coast. He stressed that personal touch and expertise provided by professional DMCs ensure a superior travel experience for tourists.

Travel And Tour World: Hi, sir. How do you feel about the Riyadh Travel Fair this year?

Nader El Biblawi: For us, as travel agencies in Egypt, the GCC market, and specifically the Saudi market, are incredibly important. I have attended this fair multiple times, and I must say, this edition is the best so far in terms of attendance, organization, and many other aspects.

Travel And Tour World: What are your expectations for the GCC market, particularly the Saudi market, given its significance as a source for inbound tourism to Egypt?

Nader El Biblawi: This season, we anticipate a substantial volume of visitors from the Saudi market for several reasons. First, we have undertaken significant promotional efforts in Saudi Arabia for Egypt. Additionally, there is a long-standing, intimate relationship between the two societies. Egypt has always been a cherished destination for Saudis over many decades, and this bond continues to grow each year. The Saudi tourists feel extremely secure and comfortable in Egypt, more so than in many other parts of the world. We welcome the Saudi market and the GCC market in general with great importance and effort.

Travel And Tour World: Besides Saudi Arabia, which other markets in the GCC are you targeting?

Nader El Biblawi: The entire GCC region, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Qatar, and Oman, is equally important to us. However, given the population size, the Saudi market stands out as the most significant. For us Egyptians, the six GCC countries are vital, but the relationship with Saudi Arabia is particularly deep and valuable, spanning decades. While we have good relations with all these countries, the ties with Saudi Arabia are especially stable and historic.

Travel And Tour World: What new offerings do you have for Saudi travelers visiting Egypt?

Nader El Biblawi: Currently, the North Coast is the highlight. Saudi visitors are increasingly attracted to this beautiful and comfortable destination. This summer, we expect a significant increase in the number of visitors to the North Coast. It’s a new and valuable destination with fantastic weather, entertainment, nightlife, and dining options. It’s the Egyptian Riviera.

Travel And Tour World: Do you have any messages or announcements for Saudi tour operators and travel agents?

Nader El Biblawi: I urge Saudi tour operators and travelers to use Destination Management Companies (DMCs). Relying on online or self-initiated tools does not provide the same level of security and peace of mind as working with professional DMCs. They are well-versed in the region and can offer comprehensive and secure travel experiences. This is my primary message wherever I go in the GCC: use DMCs and travel agencies for your vacations to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip.
