TAP Air Portugal adds new route to Brazilian city

TAP Air Portugal, Portugal’s leading carrier, is pleased to announce the expansion of its Brazilian network with a brand new route to Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil.

Enhanced Connectivity Commencing in September:

Effective September 3rd, 2024, TAP will offer seamless connections between Lisbon and Florianópolis-Hercílio Luz International Airport with three weekly flights, operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Passengers can expect a comfortable travel experience aboard Airbus A330-200 aircraft, featuring 244 seats in Economy Class and 25 seats in Business Class.

Strategic Expansion Meets Market Demand:

This strategic route launch aligns with TAP’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the Brazilian market. “The addition of Florianópolis has been under consideration for some time,” remarked Luís Rodrigues, TAP CEO. “Recent events, such as the temporary closure of Porto Alegre airport, further highlight the importance of this new service.”

Reinforcing TAP’s Position as the European Gateway to Brazil:

“Brazil remains our most significant market,” continued Mr. Rodrigues. “By introducing Florianópolis, TAP now serves 12 Brazilian cities through a total of 14 routes from Lisbon and Porto. This expansion reinforces our commitment to being the European airline of choice for Brazilian customers, offering them convenient access to over 50 European destinations within our network.”
