Security Enhancements
Germany’s border control strategy is designed to proactively detect and deter any criminal activities, ensuring the tournament proceeds safely and securely. As part of this initiative, intensified inspections are occurring at borders shared with Schengen countries including Denmark, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.
The Ukrainian team has successfully entered into Euro 2024, set to compete in Group E alongside Belgium, Slovakia, and Romania.
These strengthened security measures reflect Germany’s commitment to a secure championship environment and the prevention of any disruptions during the event.
Security Protocols
In anticipation of the European Football Championship, Germany is bolstering its border safeguards. According to Nancy Feser, Minister of the Interior, this move is essential to identify and prevent potential security threats.
Scheduled between June 14 and July 14, the championship has led the Federal Ministry of the Interior to propose additional border screenings.
Effective from June 7, these screenings target individuals entering Germany through air or maritime routes.
Document checks are being rigorously enforced at German borders with Denmark, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, all of which are Schengen member states like Germany.
