Rockin’ on the River returns to downtown Troy starting June 26

TROY, N.Y. — Rockin’ on the River is returning, bringing free outdoor music to the banks of the Hudson River in Downtown Troy for a four-show summer series, The Downtown Troy Business Improvement District announced in a press release Thursday.

The concerts will take place on June 26, July 10, July 24 and Aug. 7 at River Front Park, running from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., weather permitting.

“We’re thrilled to see the return of Rockin’ on the River this summer,” said Olivia Clemente, Executive Director of the Downtown Troy Business Improvement District in the release. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for our community to gather and experience live music by the Hudson River in Downtown Troy. We can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the fantastic lineup we have planned this year.”

Wednesday, June 26: 100.9 The Cat kicks things off with Skeeter Creek, the Capital Region’s favorite country band! These guys are legends, sharing stages with the biggest names in country music. Opening act: Road Soda Pop.

Wednesday, July 10: Rock out with RadioRadioX’s lineup, featuring the Albany Rock Pit Showcase band, the Chris Busone Band, and legendary rockers from the band, Hot Cousin.

Wednesday, July 24: PYX 106 presents a night for the Deadheads with Blues for Breakfast, a fantastic Grateful Dead jam band. Opening the night is local favorite, Side B.

Wednesday, August 7: 107.7 WGNA closes out the series with a bang! Catch Crash My Party – The Ultimate Luke Bryan Tribute Band, with Joe Adee & the Lug Nuts revving up the crowd as the opening act.

“Rockin’ on the River is a fan-favorite in Troy, and we are so excited to see it return this year,” Mayor Carmella Mantello said in the release. “We love giving our local artists the opportunity to showcase their talents in our lively downtown. If you have the time, take a second to explore downtown, and its extremely walkable streets as you also enjoy the waterfront access our city offers of the Hudson River!”

This year’s event would not be possible without the support of the City of Troy, DeCrescente Distributing,  Pioneer, RadioRadioX, Mi Casa, CDTA, Bathfitter, iHeartMedia, 100.9 The Cat, 107.7 WGNA, NYS Music, the Arts Center of the Capital Region and Hudson Valley Community College, the release said.

Event Details:

All concerts take place at River Front Park in Downtown Troy.

Admission is free, with plenty of free parking available throughout the district.

Transportation is easily accessible via CDTA.

Attendees are not permitted to bring outside food, drinks, coolers, backpacks, bags or containers.
