Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic was downgraded from probable to questionable for Sunday night’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

Doncic is dealing with a new thoracic contusion, according to the Mavericks. He already had been playing through a right knee sprain and left ankle soreness.

The first-team All-NBA guard scored a game-high 30 points in Game 1 of the best-of-seven Finals, but the Celtics limited him to one assist and shut down his supporting cast in a 107-89 win at TD Garden.

Boston benefited from several high-profile injuries during its run to the NBA Finals. Its first-round opponent, the Miami Heat, played that entire five-game series without starters Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier. Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star Donovan Mitchell then missed the final two games of the Eastern Conference semifinals, which the Celtics won in five, and Indiana Pacers centerpiece Tyrese Haliburton did the same in Boston’s conference finals sweep.

The Celtics also were without one of their own key pieces for most of the playoffs. Starting big man Kristaps Porzingis missed 10 straight games before returning to action Thursday night and scoring 20 points in Boston’s blowout victory.

Despite his various ailments, Doncic has not missed a game this postseason. He’s played an average of 41.3 minutes per contest, leading the Western Conference champs in points (28.8), rebounds (9.7) and assists (8.4).

Tipoff Sunday at the Garden is set for 8 p.m. ET.
