Surat, June 8 (Udaipur Kiran): Three people were killed and three others were injured in a horrific road accident on Mota Varachha Ring Road in Surat. One of the injured is in critical condition. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital.
In the early hours of Saturday at 2 am, near Dukiyana Darbar in the Mota Varachha Ring Road area of Surat, a car driver lost control and rammed into four bikes. Six people sitting on bikes parked on the roadside were hit by the car, killing them.
These include Viyan Vaghani (6), Devesh Vaghani, Sanket Vavadiya (29). The injured have been admitted to the hospital. The police have arrested the car driver. A case of accidental death has been registered against him and an investigation has been started.
Eyewitness Ajay Miyani said that we were all sitting on bikes on the roadside. Meanwhile, a speeding car hit people sitting on four bikes parked on the roadside. My brother-in-law and nephew died.
PI AD Mahant of Utran police station said that the accused car driver Jignesh Gohil (resident-Star Galaxy, Champrabatha Road, Variav) has been caught. In the preliminary interrogation, the accused said that he works as a tailor and while returning from Ahmedabad by car, he fell asleep, due to which he lost control of the steering.
