Sand: Best Buddies Friendship Walk? Nothing like it

I’d like to offer huge congratulations to Michelle Stiller, Rachael Fischer and their team of volunteers for this past weekend’s inaugural Best Buddies Friendship Walk in Basalt.

Best Buddies is impacting children and families throughout the communities, bringing together people of all ages in friendship with other community members, and in 23 years of living here I don’t think I’ve ever attended an event like it, with the range of people, and the mix between Aspen and Basalt (the more we bring people together like this, the better) and the beautiful kids who spoke.

The organization was impeccable and the ‘vibe’ was just perfect for our community — simple, unpretentious, warm, friendly — exactly what families needed. Everyone was so happy to be together and truly inclusive, family-friendly events like for Best Buddies this will only grow in popularity. It was a perfect way to spend a summer Sunday!
