GoPro HERO9 Black (open box) — As low as $156
The GoPro HERO9 Black is a bit of an older GoPro at this point, but that certainly doesn’t mean that it’s geriatric, and the older age means you can get it for a lot cheaper. It has a large front screen for you to work with, and it can take 27MP stills, although the 5k video recording is a little bit pointless on a model like this. It has a larger battery, which is nice, and if you’re okay with going for a refurbished or open-box version, then you can save a little cash.
GoPro HERO10 Black — $229, was $450
On the other hand, it’s very much worth it to spend the extra cash and go for the GoPro HERO10 Black, which has newer specs and can actually film 5.6k at 60FPS quite reliably. It also has a 2.7k 240 fps slow motion mode, great stabilization, and a surprisingly responsive screen, even in wet conditions. On the other hand, performance does degrade quite a bit in low light, and battery life isn’t great.
GoPro HERO12 Black –$300, was $400
If you want one of the newest GoPros on offer, then the GoPro HERO12 Black is the one to go for and it even has a standard resolution of 5.3K, HDR for videos and pictures, and an excellent horizontal lock. The Hero12 also works with the newer Max lens mod 2.0 and up to eight times slow motion at 2.7k if you want a slower video for those action shots; plus, it can go underwater down to 33 feet, so if you’re a diver, this will come in handy.
GoPro HERO12 Black Action Camera Bundle — $350, was $450
If you like the GoPro HERO12, then it’s worth going for the action camera bundle, especially since it’s just an extra $50 that gives you a ton of extra gear. For example, not only do you get a nice carrying case, but you also get a head strap to mount the GoPro and an official selfie stick as well. You also get two replacement batteries, which is perfect for those who want to record for longer and often feel that the battery runs out.
GoPro HERO11 Black Creator Edition — $450, was $550
If you want to do some form of vlogging on a regular basis and are dead set on using the Hero, then the GoPro HERO11 Black Creator Edition is an excellent choice. It comes with an external directional mic, which you can also replace, as well as a light on top for better lighting. It also comes with the Volta handgrip which can also turn into a tripod and has an internal batter, a button, and other types of connectivity so you can control your GoPro directly from the handle.
