Analysts to Discuss Leadership Trends at Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo in Kochi, India, November 11-13
SYDNEY, Australia, June 6, 2024 — A recent survey conducted by Gartner, Inc. among CEOs and senior executives reveals that 69% consider sustainability a key avenue for business growth in 2024.
Kristin Moyer, Distinguished VP Analyst at Gartner, noted, “As CEOs strategize for the long term, sustainability emerges as a pivotal factor shaping competition.” Despite concerns about corporate greenwashing, economic conditions haven’t deterred CEOs from prioritizing environmental sustainability.
The 2024 Gartner CEO and Senior Business Executive Survey involved over 400 respondents from various regions and industries. Sustainability consistently ranks among the top 10 business priorities, even surpassing productivity and efficiency this year.
Moyer explained, “Smart CEOs recognize that addressing sustainability challenges opens up new business opportunities.” Leading strategies for leveraging sustainability for growth include sustainable products and services, sustainable business practices, stakeholder engagement, and decarbonization.
Digital technology plays a crucial role in advancing sustainability goals and driving financial outcomes. For instance, IoT and data analytics can optimize operations, while AI can reduce food loss. Climate change impacts are driving operational changes, with over half of CEOs planning or already implementing adjustments due to changing weather patterns.
At the upcoming Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo, leadership trends, including the role of technology in business transformation and sustainability efforts, will be explored further.
