Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.32% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded negative around 10:44AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Granules India Ltd.(up 3.13 per cent), Biocon Ltd.(up 2.89 per cent), Laurus Labs Ltd.(up 2.75 per cent), Natco Pharma Ltd.(up 2.56 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 0.91 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.44 per cent), Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.17 per cent), Abbott India Ltd.(down 1.15 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was down 0.32 per cent at 19219.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 239.46 points at 22859.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 774.28 points at 75156.52.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, JP Power, NHPC and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Minda Ind., KCP Ltd, Bhagiradha Chem, Nava Bharat Vent. and Va Tech Wabag hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sintex Plastics Tech, Lakshmi Precis, Compuage Infocom, SecUR Credentials and Morarjee Text hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
