The Gallery of Hermosa, 138 Pier Ave., will host a reception for “Game On,” a new original artwork exhibit from 5 to 8 p.m. The exhibit and sale will feature local and national artists showcasing their work around the theme of sports and athletics. Bustin’ Out All Over

Documentary Screening

Join Beach Cities Health District for a screening and panel discussion of “Outsider” at the Redondo Beach Center for Spiritual Living, 907 Knob Hill, from 2:30 to 5 p.m. “Outsider” presents a rarely seen, candid view of a family’s journey dealing with mental illness and captures how creativity – the act of creating – can save us and keep us tethered even in the worst of times. The Mighty Echoes

Congregation Ner Tamid, 5721 Crestridge Road, in Rancho Palos Verdes, will welcome the Mighty Echoes A Cappella Doo Wap at 7 p.m. The Mighty Echoes are an American a cappella doo-wop quartet from Los Angeles. Flag Day Ceremony

Redondo Beach Elks Lodge No. 1378, 315 Esplanade, invites the South Bay community to a moving tribute to the history of our country’s flag. The ceremony will begin at 7 p.m., with a flag retirement at 7:45 p.m. Dinner will be served from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. and will consist of chicken fettuccini alfredo, salad and dessert. The South Bay Film Society offers art-house features in the AMC Rolling Hills theater 2591 Airport Drive, in Torrance. Films often sell out ahead of time.
