Sensex rises! But these stocks fell 5% or more in Wednesday's session

NEW DELHI: Several stocks plunged in excess of 5 per cent in Mumbai trading on Wednesday even as equity benchmark BSE Sensex traded 2303.19 points up at 74382.24 amid brisk buying in frontline bluechip counters.

On the BSE, Lancer Container Lines(down 11.38 per cent), JP Associates(down 9.98 per cent), Mayur Floorings(down 9.94 per cent), Misquita Engineering(down 9.82 per cent) and Dhoot Ind(down 9.81 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

In the Nifty pack, 50 stocks closed in the green, while 0 stocks ended in the red.

The index closed 735.85 points up at 22620.35.

On the BSE, Rama Paper Mill, Ramsons Proj, Thinkink Picturez, Ambica Agarbathi and Ellora Trading Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows, while Bhagiradha Chem, Heritage Foods, Aditya Birla Retail, KNR Constructions and TCNS Clothing touched their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade.
