In 2022, West released a 30 minute documentary on YouTube titled “LAST WEEK,” which gave the world insight into his personal and professional life. He received backlash for the footage in which the rapper showed porn to Adidas executives on his phone. The act was seemingly a power move by West. “What you’re feeling right now is extreme discomfort, and that is exactly the point,” he tells the Adidas execs. “Because when someone steals this man’s ideas, his creations — it’s like you’re stealing a child.”

West has said Hannukah is about “financial engineering,” that Jewish people are focused on making money and that certain rappers like Diddy were controlled by Jews. In 2022, he tweeted: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE. The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.” He ultimately offered an apology, but it was largely considered insincere.

Back in May 2018, West shocked fans when he decided to open his mouth up about slavery. “You hear about slavery for 400 years. 400 years? That sounds like a choice,” he said during a TMZ Live interview. “Like, that was there for 400 years and it’s all of ya’ll? It’s, like, we’re mentally in a prison. I like the word ‘prison’ because slavery is too direct to the idea of Blacks.”

West shared his support for then-President Donald Trump in 2018. “You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother,” the rapper wrote. “I love everyone.” In 2016, West said that, though he didn’t vote that year, he “would’ve voted on Trump.”

On July 4, 2020 West announced that he was running for president via Twitter. “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future. I am running for president of the United States.” Not only was his campaign disastrous and depraved, but it was also a huge financial loss for the emcee.

At his first presidential rally in July 2020, West made controversial claims about his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and abortion. At a South Carolina appearance, he stated that when Kardashian was pregnant with their oldest child, North, she almost had an abortion. “We talked about her not having this child. She had the pills in her hand,” West said. “I called my wife and she said, ‘We’re gonna have this baby.’ I said, ‘We’re gonna have this child.’”

During a Yeezy fashion show in October 2022, West went viral for all the wrong reasons when he wore a shirt that said “White Lives Matter.” In addition, he had his models walk the runway in similar shirts. When Vogue editor Gabriella Karefa-Johnson vocally criticized the show on Instagram, West attacked and mocked her appearance.

Conservative talking head Candace Owens wore a matching “White Lives Matter” T-shirt alongside West at his infamous Paris fashion show. In addition, Kanye and Owens attended the premiere of Owens’ anti-BLM documentary “The Greatest Lie Ever Sold.” The pair’s friendship appears to be based in disparaging Black life for the white gaze.

Kanye West made a 2022 appearance on Alex Jones’ show “Infowars.” Jones initially defended West at the start 0f the interview. “You’re not Hitler, you’re not a Nazi, you don’t deserve to be called that and demonized,” Jones stated. West retorted by saying “I like Hitler,” explaining that Hitler had positive traits. “Every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler. Also Hitler was born Christian,” West stated.

In 2022, Donald Trump had dinner with Kanye West and Nick Fuentes, a white nationalist and Holocaust denier, at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate to secure their support in another presidential run. After the meeting, West posted a video in which he said that Trump “is really impressed with Fuentes.”

In a “Drink Champs” appearance, West defamed the late George Floyd by insisting his death was fentanyl-related and that Derek Chauvin’s “knee wasn’t even on his neck like that.” After Floyd’s family threatened West with legal action, he apologized for his words. “When I...questioned the death of George Floyd, it hurt my people. It hurt the Black people,” West said in a video.

Back in 2016, West took to Twitter to proclaim that Bill Cosby — who has been accused of raping and drugging dozens of women over the course of his career —was innocent. He also compared himself to Cosby and R. Kelly on the “Vultures” song “Carnival.”
