Proposals for €2bn-plus SSE offshore wind farm to be filed
Project off the coasts of Wicklow and Wexford could generate up to 800MW of power

Plans for a more than €2bn offshore wind farm off the coasts of Wicklow and north Wexford will be submitted this week by energy firm SSE to An Bord Pleanála.
It will be able to generate as much as 800MW of electricity when it’s eventually commissioned, or enough to power the equivalent of 850,000 homes every year.
